New Children's Books

Be sure to check out the new children's books on the homepage. Each month we highlight black and multicultural books that have recently been published. One thing we've found, however, is that it is extremely difficult to find quality books for teens.

The teen books we've found are too racy in our opinion, so we try and find the best books we can even if they aren't new. We highly recommend Aman, one of our recommended teen selections. It should be required reading for all students. It's a wonderful account of gender differences in Somalia and is an intimate look at how colonialism affected the people of Somalia. It's a great read for parents and teens alike.
