Before You Send Off That Email....
Whenever we get national press for the work we do, we typically get racist hate mail also. It's something I've come to expect. Although it's never welcome, I understand it does come with the territory. Coming with the territory, however, doesn't mean I don't get to talk back.
So, if you do not like the work NAAHA does to help black families teach their children, think before you send that email. It may wind up on our blog.
I love your website.
I am now so empowered I think I am going to start my own web site for white kids. I think I'll call it "cracker corner" or something like that . Maybe "whities only"......I will need to work on it, but you get the point.
I know who really promotes racism in this country. It is the minorities themselves.
SAD.
S.T. aka Steven K. Tardy (He actually just signed his email S.T., but since he forgot to change his name in the "From" line I feel obliged to include it for him).
I'll be writing an article about why NAAHA exists especialy for those out there who think we're racist just because we want to raise and eduate our children. In one breath people like this call us stupid and inferior because of the huge achievement gap. When we do something about it, these same people call us racists. Sorry but you can't have it both ways.

I am a mother of six and an african american college graduate who decided to stay at home with my children to home school them. I would like to say to the director that the email you received from SAD was just the mere understanding of how ignorant people of non-minority sector really are. I believe that this small minded little person that left that email could never see the beauty in the dark and cultural world of Black people. As far as the email went really is as far as this person was able to think.
Love always keep up the awesome work. Do not worry, we that see the benefit in our children's education have your back, ENTIRELY.

Like you said this is not the first and it won't be the last. People will continue to be who they are in their miseducation of the next. You keep doing what you are doing for the people that need it. I'm a mother of four with #5 on the way. I've been homeschooling now for 7 years. It's been challenging but at the end it will be worth every minute of it.
In the end NAAHA will be worth every minute of it.
I love your response/post to such ignorance and hate! You handled this with grace. I know it must be difficult to deal with. I never even thought about something like this happening. You're doing great work... keep it up!

I'm a Caucasian homeschooling mom with three children. Our middle son, African American, joined our family through adoption. I am delighted by your website and Alliance and dismayed by the ignorance out there. Thanks for creating this site.

Jennifer,
I want to thank you for publishing that email message. This person proved their igorance through every single pointless word that they wrote.
This person obviously does not truly understand the definition of racism. If you look at the definition below, it truly aligns with the actions of those in this country (certain members of the white race) who initiated racism with their segregated schools, "stay in your place attitude", separate water fountains etc. before the laws were changed/civil rights.
The africans who were brought here did not ask to come here and be stripped of their identity, taken from their families and looked upon as inferior(this way of thinking still exist today). They did not initiate the racist decision to segregate. They never asked for the cruel, racist, inhumane treatment from the white race. The same racist/"I am superior" attitude that permeated then, does so now from certain ones. Alot of people have not changed, only the laws. This person proves it all to well.
AA were told the incredibly HUGE lie that they could not learn (thank God Dr. Ben Carson didn't believe that lie.) Jennifer is doing something GOOD and POSITIVE to promote excellent educational futures for AA children and being ridiculed for it. That is insane! But then, when you think about it, there is nothing sane about racism.
Did this person complain when whites segregated the schools, etc.? Did this person cry racism then? Of course not. What a hypocrite! Ignorant and a hypocrite. What an ugly combination.
If this person really knew the definition of racism, they would have seen by looking at Jennifer's website that her organization and her purpose don't even remotely fit the definition.
Oh, and by the way, I think this person should be helped out in their quest to find an appropriate web address for their "whities only "website. Look no further, this one will fit you just perfectly, www.fools-r-us.com
Press on Jennifer!!!!!! You have TONS OF SUPPORT!! TONS!!!!!
